Testimonials

We could not have dreamed a better family vacation. La Mer was even better than advertised. Thanks so very much. I suspect we will be back some day, although probably not for the most expensive, crowded week of the year on st. John!

Came to St. John in 2009, the place was beautiful, everything was so excellent.  Here at La Mer it is so beautiful.  We had a relaxing time.  This villa is unbelievable.  Thanks for making it a special time.  We love it here now more than ever, because our son was married here yesterday on Trunk Bay!  It was amazing!  What a view from here and everywhere!  Hope we can come back again and stay here!  Thank you for all your kindness!

Thank you for sharing this breathtaking spot with us! We fell in love with St. John 6 years ago and have returned nearly every year since to enjoy the beauty of the beaches, the snorkelling and all the adventures we have here.  La Mer is the most stunning villa and we feel so fortunate to have stayed here!  I couldn’t wait to get up in the morning and soak in the views; the deck off the master bedroom became my favorite spot for reading and enjoying the delicious breezes.  Your home is so beautifully designed and decorated.  You’ve created a magical oasis here!  It will be heartbreaking to leave it today, but we have wonderful memories of this visit that we will cherish always!  Thank you!

What a memorable birthday here at La Mer!  I am delighted to be here with my fabulous family.  Choose not to watch TV -- only great views, ocean breezes, and more views.  A beautifully and thoughtfully designed and decorated villa couldn’t get any better!  Thank you for opening your home for the enjoyment of others!  A suggestion for other visitors, the time flies by, enjoy every minute! Thanks again!

All we can say is “WOW!”  We’ve been to the islands before but this home is the favorite with amazing views!   We came for spring break and to celebrate 3 birthdays!  We had a great time at Trunk Bay with lots of snorkelling.  I definitely recommend eating at Island Blues; they have the best fish-n-chips.  Aqua Bistro is great too!  Go to Skinny Legs, we had a good meal there.  The best snorkelling for us was at Leinster Bay. It’s a short hike, but well worth the peaceful beach.  We saw a mongoose, I swam next to a turtle and watched an enormous eagle ray glide through the water.  Also watched a turtle pull a crab out of a shell, pretty amazing!  Barracudas would swim up to shore along with many other fish!  Hike up a ways to view the ruins, spectacular!  We recommend Captain Steve at Sea and Ski!  We went snorkelling at the Indians and the caves, really awesome, everyone has to go there!  Pirates Bight was a relaxing and peaceful place.  We hit the Willy T for lunch and it was good!  Captain Steve took us to Sandy Spit.  Renting a boat is definitely the way to go! You have got to get out on a boat and see the islands.  Ah, Cinnamon Bay…beautiful!  My personal favorite beach!  Cruz Bay is fun at night, great shopping and food.  Thank you for sharing your home.  We love it!

Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful villa home.  We had a fabulous time on St. John and here in this great house.  We come every year to St. John and stay as long as we can manage, and this has been a very special stay given the beauty of La Mer.  It is so convenient to all our favorites.  Right in the middle with the spokes out to the best beaches, North, South, and East.  The house makes everything easy too and what a great kitchen! Be sure to go out with Rick and Robin on Long Distance for a sail and snorkel.  They are great!  Be sure to get to Francis and of course Cinnamon Bays, but go east and snorkel Haulover and go to Miss Vie’s, then don’t miss Salt Pond Bay and Lameshur Bay.  Thank you.

The Sell family found your villa, La Mer, to be the BEST yet!  It is everything we hoped for--Glorious!  We have been coming to St. John for four years now and this being our fourth, brought our kids.  We also had very high expectations since this was our first trip with the "young ones"!  La Mer surpasses all of those expectations--absolutely STUNNING with its beautifully decorated rooms and extremely superb views!  We all found that we "saw" or discovered something new every day in this villa--whether it be a painting, a gadget, a trinket or just "tinkgs"!  fabulous!  The north shore beaches are always gorgeous and always so much fun to introduce VI "Virgins" to them!  My family voted that Cinammon Beach is the most beautiful and saved it to back to for our last day.  As far as snorkeling, we were advised to go to Salt Pond.  Well, it proved to be the best snorkeling all week!  We saw rays, turtles, tarpin, starfish, squid, scuttlefish, and a huge barracuda!  WOW!  We all enjoyed coming back from our beach days, jumping in the pool and conversation with cocktails about our days' events.  My husband and I love to "island stare" on the porch in the a.m. and later in the evening.  We also enjoyed great music from "Island Blues" on several starlit nights.  What an AMAZING week!  Thanks so much!

We came to St. John for spring break with our three children.  Our expectations were high for La Mer and for St. John and neither left us disappointed.  If you are just arriving here, we have some recommendations that represent the highlights of our stay:

--be sure to snorkel at Salt Pond Bay.

--Go to Maho Bay later in the day.  We went before sunset and had the beach to ourselves.  Great snorkeling too.

--Take all day sail and snorkel on Breath.  In addition to great sailing, we visiting some great snorkeling spots.

Our thanks go out to the owners for sharing their home with us.  The memories created here will last generations in our family.

We had a trip of a lifetime with memories that we will treasure forever!  We came to celebrate a wedding and we were able to share a week together in paradise!  You home is breathtaking.  It is by far the most beautiful we have ever staying in.  There are so many pictures we have taken with your 87-year-old "young" mother here with us.  We wanted for nothing.  Everything was perfect!

The White Family , 02/2010
Thank you so much for another wonderful stay at LaMer! This was our third stay here; it was the best yet! We chartered a boat to experience the lovely BVI's too! We highly recommend them! Thanks again for the amazing views and relaxing vacation!
