Testimonials for La Sirena - Kiddel Bay

Second time to St. John and La Sirena.  Had such a great time!  Some of my favorite restaurants for this trip: Donkey Diner (delicious breakfast and on Weds and Friday go for their pizza nights), Shipwreck Landing (nice outdoor setting and really good food), Aqua Bistro (so good!).  Thank you for the wonderful stay at La Sirena!

The Willinghams , Texas , 08/2011

We came here for our honeymoon and had a great time!  Loved the honeymoon, St. John and the people.  Hope to come back soon!

The Henslers , 07/2011

We have to leave tomorrow = ( but we had a great, great time!  Love the house.  Brought bug spray before we came, so we‘ve been good.  Best beaches: Lameshur Bay and East End to Miss Vie’s -- a small fee to use her beach but go to the left and the reef is beautiful, tons of fish, turtles and lobster!  Shipwreck Landing had the best blackened grouper and Miss Lucy’s had a delicious avocado snapper.  It has been raining the last 2 days but still loving it! Get a lobster roll at the Tourist Trap!  The staff at Windspree were very helpful, good people.

It is 5:22a.m. and I just finished reading both books of testimonials to this place.  Awesome!  My husband woke up at 4a.m. and pointed out the planetarium of stars from our arched bedroom window.  Needless to say I could not go back to sleep because the beauty and peace of rising to stars, breezes, and the brightening of the a.m. overwhelmed me.  I am so excited to experience the “common thread” comments in these books: the beaches, the dining, and the bannaquits!  We experienced a glorious week of sunny weather, great beaches, yummy food, and abundant peace and quiet.  La Sirena is beautiful!

Karen , 04/2011

Loved the beautiful views! Wow! Having a private pool was great -- we went swimming every day.  We rented snorkel equipment from Crabby’s and snorkelled Kiddel, Salt Pond, and Waterlemon Bays, and kayaked and snorkelled Haulover Bay with Hidden Reef Eco Tours.  Fantastic! We saw so many fish and turtles, it was so beautiful and an experience I will never forget.

Joanne and Tom , 04/2011

We have loved this place and vacation so much.  How lovely to sleep with the breezes blowing over us and to walk right out to our own private patio and pool.  We hired a photographer -- Tropical Focus -- and spent an hour at Cinnamon Bay and the ruins doing a photo shoot!  It was a lot of fun and we have some wonderful family portraits with spectacular scenery.  Thank you for a welcoming, clean, and comfortable home.  We also appreciated the extra care of the Windspree staff.  Meeting us at the ferry, arranging the car rental, stopping for groceries and welcoming us. Tanya was a perfect start to our vacation.

Baltimore, MD , 03/2011

We really loved staying at La Sirena!  We had never seen this side of the island before as in the past we always stayed at the Westin.  It was nice to see this part.  We really enjoyed the pool, it was fun to play in, very refreshing. Thank you for letting us stay here!  It was great!

The Klass Family , Columbus, OH , 03/2011

A wonderful week at La Sirena!  We love this part of St. John.  We appreciate so many things about this villa: the privacy, the views, well-equipped kitchen, the décor.  So restful after a slew of villas with the hot pink, turquoise and fish wallpaper. Looking at about 40 bananaquits scarfing down sugar as I write.  They like sugar plain or mixed with water.  Hummingbirds come for the sugar water as well. Snorkelling was the main activity this week.  We took the trail down to the bay several times (it runs directly along the bottom of the neighboring house’s pool, then straight about 5 minute to the bay), great stuff! All in all a fantastic winter break from snowy Boston!

When my family and I decided to go to St. John, I was so excited! I never imagined it could be this cool.  During our stay at La Sirena we went snorkelling almost every day.  La Sirena is such a cool house. I slept up in the loft and I loved looking at those mobiles hanging from the ceiling.  We loved staying here!  This house is wonderful and so is St. John!

Norwich, VT , 02/2011

The weather was perfect, a few showers at night.  The walking trail behind the next villa is awesome.  Rams Head trail has a 360 degree view, spectacular!  Great vacation, relaxing, would have been perfect except for bug bites.

Rockford, IL , 01/2011

First time on St. John.  It was beautiful!  We had a nice relaxing time here. The bugs haven’t been bad -- I used bug spray every night.  The snorkelling was great, hiking beautiful and a great workout.  Have fun and enjoy!

Abbey and Ryan , 11/2010

The week was relaxing.  It was a great getaway.  To kick back, read books, smell the flowers and watch the sea and animals.  As always, Skinny Legs was a favorite.  Great shopping there too!  We ate there twice and both times were great.  Shipwreck was another great spot.  They thanked us for making reservations.  We loved the Donkey Diner's pizza--call ahead and preorder.  The house had everything we needed.  The showers were great, the pool inviting, and the kitchen had everything we needed.  It was a great vacation spot.  Thank you!

The Lynch Family , West Chester, PA , 06/2010

Thank you for the house for the week.  We had a bunch of fun.  The kids enjoyed the pool and our family loved the snorkeling at Kiddle Bay.  The trail came in handy a lot this week.  The food at Shipwreck Landing and Skinny Legs was fantastic.  Miss Lucy's was also a great place.  Thanks for sharing the beautiful vista with us.

The Cenciarelli Family , 06/2010

Thank you for sharing your home with us--we had a wonderful vacation.  We really enjoyed hearing the waves come into shore down at our little bay as we were falling asleep each night.  Had great snorkeling here at Kiddle Bay, at Maho and at Denis Bay--bit of a hike down, but you'll have the beach to yourself.  Our daughter's favorite was Cinnamon for its beautiful sandy beach.  We had a great dinner at Concordia, just up the road from the tourist trap.  Took a great day trip on Bad Kitty to the BVI--very fun.  Thanks again for your hospitality.

The Shraders , Boulder, CO , 05/2010

La Sirena=Beautiful!  Thank you for sharing your beautiful home!  We appreciated your island.  Highlights:  kayah and snorkel with Hidden Reef Ecotours, East End.  Sailed Breath with the owner, incredible.  Snorkeled to Flanagan and saw a singray and two sharks!  Thank you!

The O'Malleys , Farmington Hills, MI , 04/2010

Thanks for the great week!  I hope your guests are reading this at the beginning of their  week.  There are great recommendations for eating and beaching!  We had a wonderful time.  Great food.  Perfect weather.  The best beaches in the world!  What a fabulous place to unwind and let the worries go away and to escape the snow storms of the north!

T & P Smid , MI , 02/2010

Beautiful breezes, adorable bananaquits, Kiddle Bay and the blanket of bright stars each night to enjoy--these are the moments we'll carry with us from La Sirena and St. John.  Thank you for sharing your mermaid home with us!  She's comfortable and lovely and we relished every moment of our stay here.

Heather and Freema Jelkin , Alexandria, VA , 02/2010

Loved the house, the pool, the quiet.  Some of our favorite spots--The Tourist Trap--great food and friendly service.  Donkey Diner--The breakfast was good plus had some new dishes.  Went to Lily's Market and bought food to enjoy at poolside.  All the beaches great!  Mongoose Junction was great shopping.

David, Roberta Jayne and cynthia, Jess and Ethan , Pepperell, MA and Pittsford, VT , 01/2010
My beautiful new wife and I enjoyed paradise at La Sirena. Make sure you get down to the Tourist Trap to see Larry and have some nachos.
Thank you!

Hello! We definitely enjoyed our stay here in St. John! Here are some quick notes:
Leave the sugar bowl out for the birds like everyone said-AWESOME
Don’t leave food out even for 10min in the dark, even with the lights on outside. There are random animals!
Skinny Legs—order a painkiller—it’s a must!
Rent kayaks from Cinnamon Bay.
Stargazing by the pool---YES.
Ok, got to go catch a ferry over to the British side! Thanks for a great time!
Love from Chicago!
08/2009
Loved La Sirena and St. John. Will be back. Maho-turtles! Trunk-snorkel trail, relaxing. Kiddle-tidal pools with fish, great for the kids-great snorkeling.
Eat at Vie’s, Miss Lucy’s, Rhumblines…Most memorable event: being chased by a donkey who wanted another granola bar! (I knew we shouldn’t have fed him)
Have fun!
Mike, Betsy, Hailee and Jesse , 06/2009
We’ve had an amazing time and it will be hard to leave. This is our second time to St. John, but the first for our 3 kids. This is our first time at La Sirena-we found it to be well appointed, completely relaxing and a beautiful outdoor living space with incredible views! There’s nothing like having a corner of the world nearly completely to ourselves. We rented a vehicle at the airport so we could provision up on St. Thomas before taking the car ferry over. K-Mart in Tutu Mall had all the essentials including swim noodles which we are leaving here for others to enjoy for easy snorkeling. Bought all our food in Red Hook before coming over on the ferry. You can’t beat having an evening meal at home with such private dining on the deck after a fun day of snorkeling and beach combing! Don’t miss the local fishermen selling their catch-of-the-day. One in Coral Bay, several in Cruz Bay. Snorkeling was great-reef shark, stingray, sea turtles, eel, tarpon, barracuda, sea cucumbers, etc…Our favorite was Waterlemon Cay for sea turtles and stingray. The walk/swim to the Cay was worth it. Trunk Bay was beautiful and the underwater trail is fun. We hit it on a no-cruise ship day and it was much less crowded without the cruise traffic-the only way to see it, really. Daytrip to BVI—highly recommended—The Baths at Virgin Gorda, lunch at Cooper Island, snorkeling at Norman Island and the Indians…We’ll miss this place-it’s been perfect! Thanks to the O’Briens for having such a private location and beautiful home. Won’t miss the dirt road but it’s not bad with a 4 wheel drive-even when it’s pouring down rain
Fred, Kathy, Nathan, Nick and Katie , 06/2009
First thing to do is put out sugar in a bowl for the “bananaquits” (yellow and black birds). Second, go to Salt Pond Beach. It is beautiful and great for a snorkel. After that..”Drink Right, Keep Left” GET BUG SPRAY!! LOTS OF IT!! If you want to avoid hangovers, drink the Island rum Cruzan; it has not failed me yet. Skinny Legs has great food! The burgers are awesome and so is the mahi sandwich. The food at Woody’s (Cruz Bay) was unbelievable! I got Platter #2 and boy was I glad I did. Last day here- Went to Jost Van Dyke. Soggy Dollar was all it was said to be. Chatted with a couple that was on a 3.5mil yacht. Nice people, nicer boat- I’m jealous. Time to get some sleep and deal with the airports tomorrow. Sad to go but glad to see the kids. Chicago, here we come!
Thanks Windspree!

Beautiful first time on St. John at La Sirena.  The villa is great-the drive in is worth it for the comforts and quiet here.  Very peaceful and relaxing. The beaches were incredible—favorite: Francis Bay-no matter how windy it is the water is calm. Good snorkeling there as well as Maho.  Dining: Brunch at Miss Lucy’s, lunch at Skinny Legs, dinner at Fish Trap and  ZoZo’s.  Island Blues has good music and not too far of a drive. Grilling out and cocktails here was the best way to end the day! The stars take your breath away.  Our companions have been here before; needless to say we will all be back.
The Bridges and Klunks , 04/2009
La Sirena…as enchanting as the rock upon which she is perched! Star gazing until the full moon rises. Sleeping to ocean breezes.  Awakened by the rising sun and song of the bananaquits.  Snorkeling on our private little bay, seeing more treasures of the sea than other bays hold.  La Sirena…a perfect hostess. We anticipate our return to your exquisite island hospitality! Favorites: Snorkeling: Kiddel Bay, Maho Bay, Cinnamon Bay. Sailing for the Day: Cloud 9 out of Cruz Bay to Jost Van Dyke…Foxys’ roti for lunch…Painkiller at Soggy Dollar, White Bay.  Dining: Breakfast: La Sirena! Lunch: Tourist Trap-lobseter roll, fish tacos. Buger::Skinny Legs Dinner: Miss Lucy’s, Sweet Plantains. We can’t wait to return!
Jeff, Rhonda and Morgan , 04/2009
WOW! First time on St. John and at La Sirena. Wanted for nothing. The pad has it all and is very comfortably appointed. Ate out only once ‘cause who could resist the pull of pool-side or deck dining? Alternated pool days with beach days. One week is not enough--you are just starting to get your fill on the day you leave.  Will definitely be back and hopefully for longer!
Grace and Tammy , 04/2009
Enjoyed our stay, beauty and peace. The luxury of silence. Will be back
VT , 02/2009
Have stayed at private villas in Mexico, Belize and Eleuthera. BUT La Sirena and all the amenities-beach/ocean view, secluded and beautiful-is the nicest villa of all. Came to snorkel and Kiddel Bay delivered! Salt Pond was also nice, and Great Lameshur was our favorite. Ate at Sweet Plantains and Aqua Bistro, but bought some fresh snapper for Lily’s, grilled at home, and liked it as much as any restaurant food. Always sighed with relief uopon return to La Sirena-love the pool-layout is great for returning with beach gear, easily stowed downstairs. Explored Waterlemon Cay-most abundant undersea plant life but limited fish-lots of starfish though. Little Lameshur was amazing snorkeling. Love the quiet side of the island and think we did great in choosing La Sirena!
NC , 02/2009
Sitting on the 2nd floor deck while others pack up--what a shame for me to have to listen to their packing ruckus while looking at this beautiful view. I should not be so stingy, as we have had 7 heavenly days in paradise. I will not single out one beach as each one holds its own magic. Get up early and stay out late as this was the quickest week I can remember. So much beauty in one place is a reward everyone should experience, but please remember: TAKE CARE OF IT!
NJ , 02/2009
St. John is a wonderful island. La Sirena is an awesome house for a variety of reasons.  One of the major selling points is the pool.  It is very refreshing after a humid Reef Bay hike or an afternoon in the ocean.  Once you’re finished with the pool, it’s very awesome to snooze in the hammock. Unfortunately, if you don’t use bug spray, the no-seeums will chew you up!  Kiddel Bay was my favorite swimming hole. It was by far, the best snorkeling on the island.  I saw several eels, turtles and fantastic sting rays.  It’s fair to say I saw more variety of life, more frequently at Kiddel than at any other location during my first trip to St. John. Shipwreck has the best drinks and personalities behind the bar than any other spot on the island. The food is great too. BEWARE the parking lot at Skinny Legs! It could cost you a lot if some drunk jerk smashes your jeep while leaving.  What a headache! At least the police are very nice.
Thanks!
Jack , 11/2008
WARNING: Heavy rains bring heavy mosquitos! Buy bug spray!
Beaches: anywhere you go will be nice
Food: Skinny Legs—great authentic local place, unpretentious, simple, good food.
Sweet Plantains—good food and atmosphere, costs a lot of money (dad says), lots of specialty rums
Firefood trailer at int. of 10 and 107-even though there was a small selection it was DELICIOUS!!
Thanks!
MA , 08/2008
I had a really fun time on St. John. It was fun to stay in the house instead of a hotel. I really liked the stairs and the pool. I spent one whole day in the pool! My favorite places to eat were Donkey Diner-really yummy breakfast-and Shipwreck’s Landing-good shrimp and pasta! Jake’s has a good breakfast burrito! Favorite beaches: Waterlemon for awesome snorkeling, Cinnamon-really nice and sandy. I hope that I will get to come back to St. John and La Sirena!
Love,
Becca, age 12 , 08/2008
Our first stay on St. John-La Sirena was beautiful. Loved the view from the upper deck, and the remote area. A great place to unwind J Visit: Lameshur, Jost Van Dyke, Solomon for privacy and Drunk Bay for the coral people. Thanks for the wonderful time!
MI and OH , 06/2008
I was drinking at Skinny Legs one night when I saw an older local West Indian man drinking from a bottle he had brought to the bar. The bottle was clear glass and had a cork in it that looked moldy and black. His hands never left the bottle and he talked to no one. The bottle had a yellow fluid in it and some kind of a bright red root stuffed in it. Once I noticed all this I knew I had to make contact with him. The best way, I thought, was to ask him for a drink of the stuff. To make a really long story short he was glad to give me a drink and we talked all night. I didn’t understand a lot of what he said but I think he was really cool-- and serious when he told me of the “Sabowtila” (or, “the one who uses no legs”).  A thing of the island that lives of off fear and sadness. He said when you sleep it comes to your bedroom window and listens to your dreams and can “play with your mind”. The liquid was to stop him from “coming to you at night” and helped with the sadness and fear.  Enjoy your stay….I did.
06/2008
La Sirena was perfect. Our 4th trip to St. John and this was by far the best place. Truly paradise.  Explored this end of the island, scavenged on Drunk Bay, hiked and snorkeled. Loved the house-we’ll be back.
ME , 04/2008
We’ve enjoyed our stay and managed to hike, snorkel, swim and bake in the sun everyday. The Ram Head hike was a thrill, it took us 1 hour up and back. We had an incredibly windy week, but no bugs or muggy heat!  Maho was a calm welcoming spot when the sand was blowing on the other North Shore beaches. By far our family’s favorite beach is Trunk because of its sand, snorkeling and length. Even when the tour groups were pouring in, we managed to find a less crowded spot to the right. We all enjoyed the house and the island. St. John has always been and remains my favorite Caribbean spot.
VA , 03/2008
My husband, two boys and I had a great time. We hit most of the north shore beaches and Kiddel bay. Favorite waves: Trunk and Hawksnest
Favorite sand: Trunk
Favorite snorkeling: Kiddel and Francis
Favorite restaurants: Shipwreck Landing, Miss. Lucy’s, Sweet Plantains
Love the constant warm breezes!
Sandy, Jon, Jade and Maxx , 03/2008
Our last night here and boy are we bummed! We had an unbelievably relaxing and fun time. Every day was an adventure. Even though the surf was too rough to enjoy the North Shore beaches we loved the south side of the island. Lameshur and Salt Pond were great. Snorkeling in Kiddel Bay was like being in a giant aquarium. Dined at Skinny’s, Miss. Lucy’s and on our last night, Chateau Bordeaux which was fabulous—as well it should be because it cost more than $400-yikes! Lily’s Market was pretty much an everyday trip for us with 3 growing boys! We loved La Sirena and thoroughly enjoyed the pool, deck, and bar. The whole house was a treat! Thank you to Roxanne and Bill for opening your doors to us. How wonderful of a stay it was.
Thank you!
The Cruz Family , 02/2008
Happy New Year! Beautiful house-much nicer than the photos. We recommend Shipwreck’s for lunch and music. Great shopping at Sloop Jones on East End. Pool was great, breeze kept the mosquitos at bay. Beautiful views and sunsents. A great house! Thank you!
NY , 01/2008
Happy New Year! Fabulous Vacation with our whole family! We were able to relax on all the popular bays. Food was great at Shipwreck, Aqua Bistro and Island Blues. Stars are amazing-we don’t see this in Chicago! Have fun!
IL , 01/2008
Bottom Line: St. John Rules! But if you’re here, you know that. So here are our lessons learned:
Never cook bacon in a bikini. Ever.
The pool isn’t cold, it’s refreshing
Wet donkey smells worse than wet dog
St. John breeds a new layer of laziness
Liquor + hammocks= not good
It rains a little. And by a little we mean a lot.
Drink Right, Drive Left
There are turtles at Maho bay
Break for goats. They’re cute
Relax- you’re in St. John for God’s sake
Sail “Breath”- a wonderful time
Enjoy!
The Seattle 5 , 12/2007
What a wonderful house and property this is. Our favorites-Leinster, Salt Pond, Kiddel, Haulover and our new favorite, Flanagan Island. Go through the gap to the “rough” water side and around the rocky point (with a guide!) it is spectacular! If you can dive 20-30-01’ there are some short tunnels you can swim through. A little scary but what a rush! We went out there with Captain Peter on “Breath”. What a cool character he is! Roy was our snorkeling guide and without him we would never have ventured to these exhilarating spots. Got to go catch the ferry for the trip home. Thanks again!
CT , 11/2007
Amazing villa. Could use AC in the bedrooms. Best advice I could give would be to rent a 4x4 and never stop exploring.  So much wildlife. Waterlemon is a good snorkeling spot. The Indians off of Norman Island are great snorkeling-you can free dive 40’ and not realize it.  We had a weather layover on the way down here that had us 36 hours into our vacation before reaching La Sirena, but it is a distant memory now after 5 days of great weather, food and free diving. Thanks La Sirena and St. John!
Dare and Bobby , 10/2007
We would like to start out by saying that this is the best trip that any of us have ever had. There are 6 of us, 3 couples in our 20’s.  We began planning it this past spring and everything fell into place. La Sirena is perfect. Although quite adventurous to get back here, the house and pool accommodations are excellent. As a group decision, Cinnamon Bay is the best beach and Shipwreck Landing has the best meals. All of the bars are incredible-The Beach Bar, Woody’s, The Quiet Mon, Skinny Legs, etc. We are having a bit of a scare from Hurricane Dean.  He looks like he’s heading south, but still not a fun thought being stranded. Buy lots of sunscreen, lots of bug spray and LOTS of rum! St. John is the best!
Erin, Casey, Stacy, Randy, Kim and Andy , 08/2007
This has to be the most incredible vacation I have ever experienced. Our first time in a villa. Our last stay at the Westin was nice, but nothing compared to this. The house was great and the rough road did not prevent us from traveling all over St. John. Recommendations:
Kiddel : great snorkeling, even though the water is deep
Maho: best for swimming, sandy and clear
Waterlemon: good challenge for a great snorkel around the Cay.
Vie’s: great food
Trunk : beautiful beach with nice snorkeling-to be avoided from 7:30-4-01:30; these are the paying hours as well as the most crowded.
A salute to vacationers!
Logan, Misty, John and Sarah , 08/2007
Ahh…we finally arrive! How beautiful! It’s 1700 and we cracked our first beers. W are headed down to the beach. The flowers are in bloom and look wonderful . Windspee Vacations gave us a warm welcome-thank you!
06/2007
Our last night at La Sirena. We have all been trying to think of occupations to keep us on this lovely island. Unfortunately, beach bum doesn’t pay well. La Sirena exceeded our expectations in every way. Fabulous snorkeling, everyday, everywhere. Great hikes and rum, rum and more rum! Beautiful view of Kiddel Bay, cold drinks ad dinner grilled to perfection. I wouldn’t change a thing about our vacation, except maybe the departure date. I can only hope the next occupants have as much fun and as great a time as we did. Enjoy!
Mary, Pam, Steve and Ryan. , 06/2007
This is our 4th trip here and this is by far the best place we have stayed.  Eating out makes it a real vacation; Shipwreck and Miss Lucy’s have the best food. Next time we will add Concordia to the list. La Sirena has everything going for it, view, close hikes, food and shopping, best side of island…we will have to come back again if we want to lay around and read and swim! Thanks to the owners for a truly lovely stay!
NH , 05/2007
Had a wonderful time at La Sirena! Before checking out the “popular” snorkeling spots, take a five minute walk to Kiddel Bay! Awesome snorkeling right here!
Good food at Donkey Diner, Skinny Legs and Miss Lucy’s. Colette with 6 Paq SCUBA was a very patient instructor-highly recommend her! Be careful around the pool area-tiles can be very slippery when wet. A suggestion-a few small window clings for the sliding doors. Looking forward to returning some day!
MD , 04/2007
We’ve had a wonderful time on St. John and truly enjoyed staying in La Sirena. The villa is beautiful and so comfortable. We recommend some of the beaches that are a little less crowded-Gibney, Jumbie, Lameshur and Waterlemon. Don’t miss Vie’s Snack Shack on the East End and anything at Skinny Legs. We loved our day on the sailboat “Long Distance”-highly recommended! Thank you for sharing your lovely villa!
Casey, Keli, Mallory and Kayli , 03/2007
Our 3rd visit and it just keeps getting better and better! Wish we could afford some real estate here! Kiddel Bay has fabulous snorkeling and right in our own backyard! Also loved Hawksnest Bay(very good for beginner snorkelers) Maho, Francis, and Lameshur just for lazing and swimming. Local eats just as good as Cruz Bay. Take a sunsent sail, just get on or in the water, it’s amazing. La Sirena is everything we hoped: private, remote, quiet, beautiful-we will be back!
MD , 01/2007
The six of us found the house perfect! Snorkeling at Kiddel Bay was excellent. For a sandy beach go to Lameshur and bring a picnic. If you have time, to go to Jost Van Dyke and see the “Bubbles”.
Phil and Pam , 01/2007
The house was great. Our favorite snorkeling: Maho, Waterlemon, and Salt Pond. The hike to Ram Head is well worth the time. We loved Mosquito Bites (now Big Belly Deli) for breakfast, Aqua Bistro and Miss Lucy’s.
IA , 01/2007
This was great! Time flies too fast. Relax and enjoy, we did even with 2 teenagers and my mother-in-law. Miss Lucy’s has great food, best snorkeling is right here! Saw squid, shark, turtles, eagle rays…Things needed: more time!!
MI , 12/2006
These past 10 days have been great! Make sure to snorkel at Kiddel, it was great!! Dear under-agers: ask for a pina colada at any restaurant!
NC , 12/2006
La Sirena-“The Mermaid”- has shared her magic once again and blessed us with beauty and peace for 8 days. We were married on the beach at Kiddel Bay November 2nd and celebrated the rest of the week! My recommendations on St. John—Everything!
VT, NH and ON , 11/2006
Our stay here was great! First time on St. John, probably not our last. The house makes up for the road. Used up a lot of repellent. We did most of the cooking at the house. Dolphin Market had the best prices. Loved the pool. Did lots of snorkeling. Thanks!
Ski, Susie, Heather and Jake , 08/2006
We loved the house, wonderful breezes and fabulous view. Each bay had its own special attraction. Trunk Bay-get there early. Maho was uncrowded. Salt Pond was close.
Kiddel was my favorite to snorkel because of the depth, variety and clarity. We saw a turtle and a 5 foot nurse shark. Round Bay, just past Vie’s, was perfect for swimming-calm and easy to snorkel. Lime Inn was great for grilled fish. Aqua Bistro was our favorite-delicious! Skinny Legs had $2.00 Presidente all day every day. Never turned on TV, who needs it? Road was an amusement.
Ralph and Teresa, Billy and Jill , 07/2006
Thank you for the wonderful accommodations. We had a fabulous time here. The views were breathtaking and St. John is a beautiful island. This was our first time visiting here and we will definitely be back; more than likely we will call this island our home within a few years. For future vacationers I suggest: snorkel at Salt Pond-venture out a little to see the turtles. Shipwreck Landing. Banana Rum, OJ and grenandine. Enjoying the peace, quiet and beauty of this villa.
Christopher and Sarah , 05/2006
Our second year at this villa, 3rd year in St. John. What a gorgeous island! This is the only island we’ve returned to 3 years in a row. Love staying in a private villa with our own pool vs. a hotel room-now we’re spoiled, how can we ever do a hotel again?!
Thunderstorms our first day, but that’s ok, it was a first for us. Road to the villa seems worse, must have gotten washed away in the rain. Wish there were some good “local” places to eat nearby-who needs to eat expensive food that you can get anywhere else when you come to such an exotic place? Love all the wildlife-the laughing gulls, the frigate birds, the hummingbirds, the hermit crabs, frogs, lizards, etc.
No-seeums are eating me alive though, not much of a breeze at night since we’ve arrived. Great routine: coffee, reading, some a.m. news, more reading, off to a different beach, back for pool and more reading, shower late in the day, dinner, cocktails…could get used to this.
Steve and Janet , 05/2006
I cant wait to come back to La Sirena! Go to Trunk Bay and Francis Bay. They have great waves for body surfing when there is a north wind!
Delaney, 10 yrs old , NY , 05/2006
Snorkel to the right at Kiddel Bay, wear water shoes! But it’s BEAUTIFUL!! Excellent villa and stay overall-2 weeks is the ticket! We’ll be back!
NY , 05/2006
La Sirena was a wonderful place to relax and unwind. We loved the house (hated the road to get in here but the house was great).  Check the cruise ship schedules and plan trips to Trunk Bay and to shop in Cruz Bay accordingly. Some days it’s way too crowded. Drive slow-keep left-and watch out for goats! Enjoy!

Kiddel Bay is great! For scuba (shore dive) or snorkel. Miss Lucy’s for brunch-live jazz. Loved the house, it was our first time at La Sirena but we will be back!

La Sirena was a great place to base our vacation. The house was so secluded, it felt like we were the only ones out here.  The “Christmas winds” arrived a little late, but just in time for us—winds and nightly rains kept the temperature perfect and the bugs to a minimum.  We loved having the pool and tiki bar-those plus the view made it a truly perfect tropical vacation!  Thanks for having everything we needed here already-beach chairs, towels, etc. The Must Do list: Salt Pond Beach, hike to Ram Head, Waterlemon Cay, BVI sail, Fish Trap, Skinny Legs, Aqua Bistro, Trunk bay. Thanks for a great vacation!

The pool—wonderful after a day at the beach. Always warm and inviting. We went to many beaches-all beautiful but Salt Pond is our beach. Restaurants: Donkey Diner, Skinny Legs, Aqua Bistro, Shipwreck Landing, Vie’s…
Please add to your kitchen a loaf pan and cake pan. Our 8 days here were relaxing and invigorating-we will remember the sights and sounds of La Sirena.
